Temperature Management Services

ATS offers a complete solution to help pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers address Health Canada’s recently published guidelines for the transportation of temperature sensitive products.

Early In 2001 when CEO Michael Andlauer challenged the ATS team to bring his Ambient Temperature Solution to reality, he could not have foreseen where the world would be when his team would deliver on that promise.

Today ATS offers pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers a complete solution to address temperature management and security objectives.

Purpose-Built Preparedness

ATS Temperature Management Services feature 24/7 tracking, data capture and retention, a nationwide network of temperature managed facilities, and over 700 fully trained practitioners. Systems and procedures are qualified by SNC Lavalin Pharma.

At the core of the ATS service is the ability to monitor and proactively manage the temperature of the delivery vehicle enroute.

Our accelerated research into tracking technologies allows us to offer security strategies that are seamlessly blended into the ATS overall solution.

Temperature Sensors

As you can see from the Delivery Process Chart temperatures must be managed from pick up through to delivery across a number of trucks and storage rooms. This movement is facilitated by careful loading and stacking procedures to ensure correct circulation of air throughout the shipment process.

Temperature managed trucks are equipped with four TEMPERATURE SENSORS, plus a fifth sensor that indicates when the rear door is open. Two sensors read the temperature of the air in the truck, while two others are filled with glycol, to simulate the temperature of the freight. Readings are monitored every six minutes. ALARMS are preset at 2°C from threshold, AMBIENT= 17°C - 23°C, COLD CHAIN= 4°C - 6°C, to prevent an EXCURSION before it can occur. Readings from all sensors are shown at the left of this screen. The SPEED and LOCATION of each vehicle are included. The technology allows for the PLAYBACK feature to reconstruct any event.

This sample tracking screen shows the GEOMAPPING of an ATS delivery vehicle’s route in Montreal. The itinerary is highlighted in yellow, indicating that a GEOFENCE has been drawn along the route. A GEOFENCE is a boundary that is set using a Global Positioning Device.

Each truck has its own itinerary. Should a vehicle veer off its appointed route for whatever reason, an ALERT pops up at an ATS MONITORING STATION. At this point the driver may be contacted. In a case of accident or theft, the police can be dispatched.

This tracking technology allows for a PLAYBACK of events and can show the ALERT HISTORY for the fleet, or for any single truck in the network. An ALERT LOG is shown on the right of the sample screen.
